Fun at the beach

My Nana lived right on the beach in Cambria, CA. It has these beautiful beaches with tidepools and rocky cliffs. The water is painfully cold, though, so only the wildly crazy go in for long. My cousin, Daniel, who is from England, went in for 15 minutes and said it's the coldest water he's ever been in. The kids still got to have a great time running around, digging, and building castles. This was Catia's first time at the beach. She seemed to have a great time digging her toes in and trying to eat the sand - this girl will eat anything!!

On the road!

My Nana passed away this last week. We praise the Lord that she was a believer and we can have assurance that she is at home now with Him. So, we headed to the coast in central California for her funeral and time to celebrate Nana with our friends and family. It's a long trip, though - 11 hours there (we made it in 10 hours on the way home). I just had to post a couple of pics of the most peaceful moments in the car (actually they were really well behaved when they were awake, too, for being confined for such a long trip). We also stopped for a potty break at the dinosaurs - Dominic loved that!

Boys love trains!!

The boy cousins, Joshua, Brennan, and Dominic, love trains!! The last time they were over, they spent a couple of hours doing nothing but watching and playing trains. Most people probably don't want to have a train running right behind their house. But, it is the highlight of Dominic's day when the train comes by. You can see all 3 boys having fun watching it go by. I also had just bought some new baskets for my bookshelves, and before I could get them organized, they had made a train out of those, too. They took turns being the engineer and were putting all sorts of toys in the other "cars". It's great to see their imaginations at work!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to Juan!! We just had a small breakfast celebration on Father's Day. Dominic loves making pancakes into words, so Juan got "#1 Dad" pancakes that morning. Dominic, Catia, and I are just so blessed to have Juan. He is an amazing daddy, and he just pours himself into them. They, of course, adore him. Dominic wants to be just like him (as you can see in the pics - he likes to help fertilize and mow and he is also a master at the computer and using the mouse already). Catia just can't get enough kisses with her daddy! It melts my heart.

Our Sunshine is 1!!

Catia turned 1 on May 25th! I can't believe my little baby is 1!! She is so precious. She is just about at a full run now and has several words. The newest word is "hi" which comes out "iiiii-eeeee", and always with huge eyes as she says it. We celebrated her birthday at our house with grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and a couple friends. The kids had a great time decorating their sunhats and planting flowers. Catia thought the sunshine cake was great, too! It's been a great first year for our precious girl, and we can't wait to see what God has in store for her next. We love you, sunshine girl!!

Dominic's 3rd Birthday!!

Dominic turned 3 years old a month ago now, but I thought I'd go ahead and post a few of his birthday pics. I can't believe that my little guy is already 3. It seems like it wasn't very long ago that I was just getting his nursery ready in such anticipation, and yet, at other times, I have to remind myself that he's only just 3 - he seems so much older. We just love our Dominic and all the smart, sweet, hilarious, and crazy things he does. So, on his actual birthday, Juan was out of town, so I just made him #3 pancakes for breakfast. We had his party the next week with his cousin Brennan, who just turned 3 last week, at his gym, Rolly Pollies. Everybody had a great time.

I finally got on board with my sister and lots of my friends and started this family site. I am terrible at keeping up with scrapbooks, so this will be an easier way for me to record our family memories. I hope you all will enjoy it. I'll try to post at least weekly, or as those special moments happen.
